The only vehicles capable of carrying seven adults or lots of cargo used to be minivans, traditional full-size SUVs and passenger vans. But large crossover SUVs like the Mazda CX-9 have been a game-changer, providing the space of a large SUV, respectable fuel economy and handling, and exterior styling that doesn’t immediately scream “diapers!”
The CX-9 combines a spacious interior that can be lavishly appointed along with the sporty handling characteristics often associated with Mazdas. Naturally, you won’t mistake the CX-9 for a sport sedan, but it imparts an athletic driving feel in spite of its larger size and still rides comfortably. All Mazda CX-9s have three rows of seating, and you’ll find that you can fit actual adults into the third row, though you’ll have to slide the second-row seats forward to accommodate them.
