The Geneva Motor Show 2015 has started. Even before going there in person, the Mercedes-Benz highlights are worth watching. The program is packed with many top splendid specimen. Among them a “mountaineer”, a “family sportster” and a “vision”.
ドイツの高級車メーカー、メルセデスベンツは3月3日、スイスで開幕したジュネーブモーターショー15において、『メルセデス-AMG GT3』を初公開した。
メルセデス-AMG GT3は2014年秋、パリモーターショー14でワールドプレミアされた新型スポーツカー、『メルセデス-AMG GT』のレーシングカー。FIA（国際自動車連盟）のGT3規格を満たすレース専用車となる。
エクステリアは、市販版のメルセデス-AMG GTとは異なる縦基調の専用フロントグリルを採用。これは、メルセデスベンツの伝説のスポーツカーで、「ガルウイング」で知られる『300SL』が1954年に登場する前、レースで活躍したプロトタイプマシンを思わせる。
また、メルセデス-AMG GT3では、ボディをワイド化。リアには、エアロダイナミクス性能を高める大型ウイングとディフューザーを装着。多くのパーツがカーボンファイバー製で、軽量化も果たす。
エンジンは、市販版のメルセデス-AMG GTとは異なる。メルセデスベンツの現行GT3レーサー、『SLS AMG GT3』譲りの6.2リットルV型8気筒ガソリン自然吸気エンジンを選択した。このエンジンは、世界のモータースポーツシーンで性能や耐久性は実証済み。トランスミッションは、6速シーケンシャルを採用している。 (response)
