メルセデスベンツは2月13日、メルセデス・マイバッハ『G650ランドレー』を欧州で発表した。
G650ランドレーは、超高級車の「メルセデス・マイバッハ」ブランドにとって、初のSUV。ブランドとしては、サルーンの『Sクラス』ベース、オープンカーの『Sクラス・カブリオレ』ベースに続く第3弾となる。
ベース車両は、優れたオフロード性能に定評あるメルセデスベンツ『Gクラス』。「G63 6×6」および「G500 4×4スクエアード」同様、G650ランドレーにもポータルアクセルを採用。最低地上高は450mmを確保しており、圧倒的な走破性能を実現する。
また、「ランドレー」とは、もともと馬車のボディタイプを示す言葉で、後部座席部分だけがオープンになることを意味。G650ランドレーでも、後席乗員の頭上空間がオープンになる設計。電動ファブリックトップを装備した。
パワートレインは、6.0リットルV型12気筒ガソリンエンジンを2個のターボで過給したユニット。最大出力630hp、最大トルク102kgmを発生する。
